Its bright light, breathtaking landscapes, hilltop villages, azure sea and 300 days of sunshine a year make the Côte d'Azur a dream holiday destination almost too perfect to be true.

Embrace the luxury of simple, everyday rituals being transformed into unforgettable moments

Provence and the Côte d'Azur are made for explorers. One of the joys of travelling here is touring the back roads and soaking up the stunning variety of landscapes: fields of lavender, ancient olive groves, clifftop roads, maquis-cloaked hills and even snow-tipped mountains. It's home to France's deepest canyon, oldest road and some striking mountain passes, all a dream come true for drivers. You’ll be undeniably seduced by the free and easy ‘style de vie’ in this area of France. From March through to October you can expect sunshine every day with near certainty.

Then there's the Mediterranean itself, a bright mirror of blue reflecting back craggy cliffs, white beaches and endless skies.
Consequently, the atmosphere here is laidback and the people are stress-free and happy. Unlike many other parts of the world, the South of France has refused to adopt the fast-paced lifestyle that has become increasingly prevalent around the globe. The way of life here is slow and leisurely - the perfect combination for a relaxed holiday.

Wherever you end up in Provence, you certainly won't go hungry. Food is a central part of French life, but in Provence it becomes an all-consuming passion. Dominated by the hallowed ingredients of Mediterranean cooking – olive oil, wine, tomatoes and garlic – the region's cuisine is guaranteed to be a highlight, whether that's savouring a simple bowl of soupe au pistou, tasting this year’s Cote de Provence, tasting the season's first-press olive oil on a local farm or savouring fresh fish by the seaside. Bon appetit!

When to go

Locals will say that the June-August period is when the region is at its busiest and when the sun never fails to shine. Temperatures can however get very high so May, September or October may be preferable in order to savour mild temperatures at your own pace.

How to get there

Nice airport has numerous flights all year round from all major cities. Situated just 30 minutes from where we buy, it is always quick and easy to get in and out the airport and get to your homes in just a few minutes!

For us - the unique thing about August is that we get access to 5 homes all over Europe in remarkable locations for the same price as a normal holiday home in the UK.
